Our Story
African Indigineous People was founded to respond to the erosion of indigenous cultures, land dispossession and the marginalization of rural communities. We partner with local leaders to document traditional knowledge, restore livelihoods, and ensure indigenous voices inform decisions that affect their land and future.
Our programs are co-designed with communities so that interventions respect cultural protocols and complement traditional governance structures — ensuring sustainability and community ownership.
Vision & Mission
Vision: Thriving indigenous communities that lead culturally-rooted, ecologically-sound development across Africa.
Mission: To empower indigenous peoples through rights-based advocacy, culturally-appropriate economic programs and the preservation and transmission of indigenous knowledge to younger generations.
Our Approach & Values
We prioritise participation, cultural respect, environmental stewardship and shared accountability. Our programs are evidence driven and locally led — combining traditional practices with appropriate innovations to improve incomes and resilience while maintaining cultural identity.
