Our Mission
To protect and strengthen the cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing of Africa’s indigenous peoples by preserving their traditional knowledge, defending land and resource rights, and supporting inclusive, sustainable livelihoods tailored to local ecosystems and cultures.
We work directly with indigenous youth and community leaders to co-design programs that sustain languages, farming systems and cultural practices while enabling access to markets, education and climate-resilient technologies.
Indigenous Knowledge & Culture
We document, revive and teach indigenous cultural practices and traditional ecological knowledge — from seed saving, native crop cultivation, and herbal medicine to oral histories and native craft. This work safeguards cultural identity and provides a foundation for resilient livelihoods.
Sustainable Livelihoods
We support indigenous entrepreneurs with training in agroecology, value-addition, cooperative formation and small enterprise management. Our goal is to grow dignified income opportunities that are culturally appropriate and ecologically sustainable so communities stay on their land with economic security.
Food Sovereignty & Agroecology
We promote local seed systems, diversified cropping, soil health and low-input agroecological practices that increase food security while preserving biodiversity. Youth programs emphasize hands-on demonstration plots and community seed banks.
Land Rights & Policy Advocacy
We support communities to document customary land use, map territories, and engage in legal and policy advocacy to secure recognition and protection of communal land rights. Our advocacy helps indigenous voices influence policy and access justice when rights are threatened.
Youth & Women Empowerment
We prioritise youth and women-led initiatives — offering leadership training, access to microfinance, mentorship and market-readiness support so that traditionally marginalised groups can lead local development and own resilient enterprises.
Research & Appropriate Innovation
Working alongside indigenous communities, we pilot low-cost, appropriate technologies — improved post-harvest methods, water-harvesting systems, and community-managed processing — and scale what works through participatory research and documentation.
